I’m Laura, an author & photographer.
I write books about searching for magic & meaning.

On my 15th birthday, my dad gave me an Olympus Trip camera and made our downstairs cloakroom into a home darkroom. I’ve been taking pictures ever since. I graduated from the University of Bristol with an MA in Modern & Contemporary Poetry.
My narrative non-fiction book, Chasing Fog is published by Simon & Schuster. It was chosen by The Bookseller as an Editor’s Choice non-fiction title for August and described by the i as ‘an exquisite piece of nature writing’ in their ‘Best New Books to Read in August 2024’.
My first book Little Stories of Your Life is published by Quadrille.
My work has appeared in publications including The Simple Things, Ernest Journal, Project Calm, Country Homes & Interiors, Oh Magazine, Metro and Lionheart. I spent three years as the Deputy Editor of independent lifestyle magazine 91 and now work part time as a bookseller in a small indie bookshop in the Cotswolds.
